MY TRAVEL HASSLE
Once while I was travelling I wanted to look
for restaurants, museums or whatever interesting place, and unfortunately I did
not have a handy travel guide, and I had to ask to anyone for help in order to
get information, or to point me in the right direction each time that I wanted
to go to any place. For instance I
remember that a friend of mine asks for a nice restaurant, then we went there,
but for him eating there was a pain in the neck. So on that moment I recalled
that I had read on Internet a couple of interesting applications that would
help me to find out and explore new places in any city of the world, and
actually they were absolutely functional , Had I known those applications would
be useful , I would have started to use them since the beginning.
After that, we decided try some recommendations
that I had found in my cell phone previously, and it seemed to me that was a
good decision, we found a couple of good restaurants with high score in one of
those applications.
MY RECOMMENDATION:
TECHNOLOGY
I would like show you a couple of applications that are going to help you to explore the world, specially those places that are totally unknown for you, and it is really helpful if you have had a trip in mind, I am sure you will have a fun with these applications.
FOURSQUARE
First I want to explain you what foursquare is: It is a kind of social
networking based on mobile devices such as smartphones, the service is available
to users with GPS (Global Possition System), nowadays almost smartphones as
blackberry has a GPS. Through this service you will have a new way to explore a
city, find restaurants, hospitals, markets etc. The service allows read
comments from others users, and even you could give your opinion and recommendation
about a place. Make sure, if we had tried to use a foursquare, we would not
have a bad experience.

LAYAR
Secondly Layar
is an application that also allows you discover new points of interest through
smartphones and something known as augmented reality, it is really amazing,
over time its features are going to improve in our cities.

Summing up these links are not exactly websites
to explore, but they offer you some links to get the apps on your cell phone as
blackberry, iphone or android, and immediately allow you be ready to explore a
new city, even your own city right now. Those applications helped me to find
famous places and they also provide me important information like history, and
opinions from other persons.
These videos probably look astonishing, but
maybe you must be wondering if it really works in cities like Bogota, Cali, etc.
I would say that these applications have been improving, and they surprised me,
obviously they are not impressive as the previous videos, but over time they
are going to be close to that perception. In my opinion they are great tools to take
advantage of the technology.
